William Penn. The name has almost universal recognition. More than 300 years after the Tree event, people clamor to be associated with the man who symbolizes fairness, truth and wisdom.
A meandering Google search turned up a variety of Penn brandings. There are, of course, schools and streets bearing his name. Banks and insurance companies align themselves with his persona.
Taverns, pubs and sports bars are plentiful. Penn wine, fine. Penn actually planted vinifera vines in 1683. There is a William Penn Colonial Style Lager “inspired by the clarity and wisdom that guided American’s First Great Champion for liberty and peace.” (City Brewery, La Crosse, Wisconsin.)
How about William Penn clothing? There are tee-shirts and even infant creepers. (Check out Zazzie.) There are water bottles and beach towels. You can take WP to the gym or on vacation.
Hajoca Corporation, a huge wholesale plumbing distributor, has Penn front and center of their trademark.
