Frank Chalfant Gaylord II (March 9, 1925 – March 21, 2018)
Frank Gaylord in 1982 sculptured the William Penn statue in Penn Treaty Park.
John Connors visited Frank 2 years ago in Vermont to interview him about our sculpture. He greeted me with a firm handshake and a little smile. He said he wore his Temple sweat shirt because he knew I was coming from Philadelphia and he was very proud of the tutelage he received at Tyler School of Art in 1950. He was a young man that returned home to West Virginia after World War II. He enrolled at Carnegie Institute but later transferred to Tyler. The Penn Treaty Museum (Gallery) website has many pictures of his Barre Vt. studio.
